# Indicator changes

> How the 2026 Indicators relate to the 2024 Indicators, one Indicator at a time.

  An Indicator score can be read alongside its 2024 counterpart only where the Indicator is unchanged or only its grammar was corrected. New and revised Indicators measure something different from 2024.

The 2026 edition keeps nine Domains with 11 Indicators each, and each 2026 Indicator has the same number as the 2024 Indicator it is compared with. Changes of Layer, scoring type and evidence type are noted beside each Indicator; four Indicators changed Layer in all (Foreign Policy 5, Domestic Politics 7, Society 9 and Law Enforcement 8). ### New Indicators

These Indicators are new and replace the 2024 Indicator with the same number. The two scores are not comparable.
